Мальта никогда не была в списке мест, куда бы я хотела сьездить. Как-то не приходило в голову если честно, у меня был очень активный год в плане работы, и хотя я конечно же, всегда рада сгонять в Италию, я также счастлива, когда могу улететь напрямую куда-нибудь ещё. Кто в курсе, тот меня поймёт. Но всё же наверное, стоит объяснить.
Ребята, не всегда легко уехать из Таллинна прямым рейсом в недальные и неизбитые направления (не рассматриваю соединения здесь, потому что летаю не одна). Ну не привлекает меня чартер на Турцию или Болгарию. Была. Отдыхала. Не хочу. Поэтому когда в прошлом году, я помню, чуть ли не в новогоднюю ночь я увидела билеты на Мальту, то купила не раздумывая. Вот так, неожиданно, мы здесь)
Спасибо мама, что скинула мне в своё в ремя линк на Марсашлок, та самая известная рыбацкая деревня на Мальте, в 15 минутах езды от аэропорта, где мы, конечно же и остановились! Любим красоту, ребята.
Что мы не ожидали по приезду? Наверное, +29 каждый день. Да, да, прогноз мониторили, но сам факт. По ощущениям, все +33 и выше. А ещё не ожидали, что настолько влюбимся в этот теплый, песчаный и уютный остров, что захотим вернуться. Возможно на Гозо в следующий раз, куда мы не доехали, но отдохнув неделю на Мальте, я уверена, что это будет того стоить! Снимала квартиру в центре Марсашлока, очень удобно, везде пешком, в этой невероятно красивой деревушке, с яркой палитрой рыбацких лодок, обалденным воскресным рынком, наивкуснейшими ресторанами, променадом, полным туристов и местных, и конечно же, уличных котов! Хотите красивого и запоминающегося знакомства с Мальтой? Тогда в Марсашлок, однозначно!
Скажу сразу, пляжа в Марсашлоке нет, но есть одно очень крутое место, куда вас могут отвезти на лодке, ну или своим ходом. В нашем случае, это был второй вариант, около двух с половиной километров до St Peters Pool. Вы только гляньте на фотографии, я тащусь от этого цвета воды. Глубоко, но купаться можно, и нужно!
В Марсашлоке каждый день рынок, поэтому, когда в воскресенье утром мы лениво выползли в 11 утра из дома, я не ожидала увидеть потрясающий рыбный рынок в самом разгаре (и да, он только по воскресеньям), чего там только не было! Такая красота, и ох, как вкусно! Не удержались конечно, купили креветок и зажарили на ужин. Повторила бы в любое время, это божественно. Ну или рыбу на ужин в Capo Mulini и бокал охлажденного Vermentino, ну что ещё нужно?! Иногда заглядывали в La Reggia выпить местного Мальтийского, советую, выбор отличный.
И да, чуть не забыла, местный ночной рынок тоже неплох. Здесь для вас приготовят то, что купите, мы брали тунца.
Конечно, у меня была в планах и Валетта. Мы увидели лишь какую-то часть Валетты, её невероятные улицы и красивейшие кружевные балконы, думаю, я вернусь. Посмотрим.
Хотя, обещаю. Продолжение о Мальте когда-нибудь будет. Ведь здесь прекрасно всё.
Malta has never been on my list of places where I would have loved to go. I somehow never thought of it, and frankly, I had quite a busy year in terms of photographing and other work, and although I, for sure, am always happy to go back and spend a week in Italy, I am nevertheless happy when I have a chance to fly directly from Tallinn to somewhere else. Those who know will understand me. But perhaps it's worth explaining.
Guys, it’s not always easy to fly directly from Estonia to a number of beautiful destinations (I don’t consider any EU connections here because I’m not flying alone). Well, regular summer charter flights to either Turkey or Bulgaria don't attract me either. Been. Done. Not excited. Therefore, when last year, I remember, almost on New Year's Eve, I saw direct flights to Malta, I bought us tickets there and then! So, unexpectedly, here we are. Thank you mother, for sending me the link to Marsaxlock, one famous fishing village in Malta, 15 minutes drive from the airport, where we of course chose to stay! We love the beauty in everything.
What didn't we expect? I guess +29 every day. Yes, and surely, we've seen the weather forecast but it felt more like +33 in the air. And I guess what we also didn't expect was to simply fall in love with this warm, sandy and cozy island so much that we would definitely want to come back. We are thinking of Gozo, where unfortunately we didn't go, but judging by our week in Malta, I have no doubt it'll be worth it! I rented an apartment in central Marsaxlok, we walked everywhere, in this incredibly beautiful village, with a bright palette of fishing boats, a funky Sunday market, delicious restaurants, a promenade full of tourists and locals, and of course, street cats! Do you want a beautiful and memorable experience of Malta? Then start with Marsaxlok, for sure!
Unfortunately there is no great beach in Marsaxlok, but there is one very cool place not too far where you can be taken by boat or you can always walk. The latter was the case of our own, about two and a half kilometers outside the village to St Peters Pool. Just look at those photos, the color of the water makes my heart jump. It's a little deep there, but you can and must swim!
There is a daily market in Marsaxlok, but I remember when on Sunday morning we lazily got out of the house at around 11 am, I didn't expect to find the amazing fish market in full swing (and yes, it is only on Sundays) and oh, how delicious! We couldn't resist of course, having bought king prawns for lunch. I'd have it now if I could! Well, either that or swordfish for dinner at Capo Mulini and a glass of chilled Vermentino, what else is needed?! We'd also pop round to La Reggia for a glass of local Maltese wine, service and selection are excellent. And yes, I almost forgot, but the local night market is also very good. Here, whatever you buy you'll be cooked for, we tried tuna.
Of course, I also had Valletta in my plans. We saw a small part of Valletta, its incredible streets and beautiful balconies, I think I'll come again. We'll see. Yet, I promise. Malta is to be continued. After all, everything is almost perfect here.
